Using a magnetometer on a drone enables scanning areas to detect metals several times faster compared with handheld devices and allows obtaining geo-referenced magnetic maps of the area. The 'UAV+magnetometer' integrated system may combine a drone with a sensitive magnetometer SENSYS MagDrone (R3 or R4) and a precise altimeter for True Terrain Following mode.

Q: When do you really need a drone-based magnetometer compared to a ground magnetometer?

Q: How do the radar sensors work on water surfaces like a lake or ocean?

A: Water is the best surface for radar altimeter. We supply also systems for bathymetry, the SkyHub/TTF kit.

Q: What about magnetic diurnal correction? Do you also have a base mag set up on the ground to allow removal of the diurnal?

A: The data can be merged and recalculated with our MagBase system.

Q: Can you do magnetic vertical gradiometry, with 2 mags separated vertically?

A: For R4 it can be changed by Sensys.

Q: Are R3 and/or R4 suitable for mineral explorations? What is your recommendation for the altitude for mineral explorations?

Q: Do you need a ground magnetometer as a reference station?

A: Recommended is SENSYS MagBase as a reference station. In such case, you will apply corrections in one click in MagDrone Data tool. But you can use any magnetometer but to apply corrections you will need to use 3rd party software (Montaj etc).

Q: Are there any training options for the MagDrone?

A: We provide trainings of course. For missions planning, flights with TTF system, and R3/R4.

Q: Is there any option for seeing readings in real-time during the flight? Not detailed information but raw readings?

A: Currently no, but we are considering to add this in the future. Just to provide operator evidence that the sensor is working. Is it for the same?

Q: Not sure if you mentioned it - but can you use the DRTK2 in RTK to maintain positioning, and then PPK the flight data afterward?

A: If you use DRTK2 and m300 will be in RTK mode, you will have precise coordinates in logged data - if your R3/R4 is connected to SkyHub. If your magnetometer is with internal GPS, you may post-process data after the flight.

Q: I'd be highly interested in seeing more of your data on UXO - you mentioned there was an additional data set?
